This role requires a highly experienced and hands-on legal professional to lead and manage all legal affairs. The Head of Legal will act as the primary legal advisor, personally handling complex legal matters while also overseeing external counsel to ensure the company's interests are protected.

Responsibilities:

• Direct Legal Counsel & Execution: Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts, including investment agreements (private equity, venture capital), shareholder agreements, and joint venture agreements. Personally handle the most critical legal work for Ecommpay
• Leadership & Management: Lead the legal function and act as the primary legal point of contact for the founder and senior executives, providing proactive and day-to-day legal support
• Compliance & Risk Management: Monitor legal and regulatory developments, investments, and personal affairs. Implement and enforce legal policies, procedures and templates to ensure compliance and risk mitigation across multiple jurisdictions
• Investment Support & Due Diligence: Conduct legal due diligence on prospective investment opportunities across asset classes such as real estate, private equity, and venture capital
• Wealth Structuring & Personal Affairs: Provide direct legal advice on wealth structuring, estate planning, and succession matters, including those with multi-jurisdictional elements. Manage the legal aspects related to high-value personal assets
• External Counsel Management: Manage and oversee relationships with external legal counsel, including selecting firms, managing engagements, and ensuring high-quality, cost-effective services. Act as the central hub for all external legal matters
• Disputes & Litigation: Direct and manage disputes, litigation, and arbitration matters. Work closely with external counsel while remaining deeply involved in the strategy and execution of cases
  

Requirements:

• Qualified lawyer with a strong corporate and commercial law background.
• 5+ years of legal experience, including senior in-house roles such as Head of Legal or Senior Legal Counsel
• Hands-on experience in fintech and/or e-commerce, with solid understanding of regulatory and commercial matters
• Skilled in drafting, negotiating, and managing complex contracts, investments, and matters across multiple jurisdictions
• Knowledgeable in compliance, risk management, and dispute resolution
• Experienced in wealth structuring, estate planning, and overseeing high-value personal assets
• Proficiency in English
